About

I’ve been building for the web professionally since 2012, after discovering a passion for using code to create things people could actually use. I taught myself the foundations in my spare time, and that curiosity quickly grew into a career.

Since then, I’ve worked across a wide range of industries, from marketing and ecommerce to fintech and open‑source, and led teams of different sizes through projects with very different demands. I’ve seen trends come and go, tools evolve and best practices shift, but the lesson that’s stayed with me is that the work is at its best when it’s inclusive.

My journey into accessibility began a few years into my career, when I observed a visually impaired person navigating a website with a screen reader. Having never used assistive technology myself, I realised how little I understood about the lived experience of the people who rely on it, and how much responsibility I had as a developer to ensure what I built supported them rather than excluded them.

Since then, and further shaped by my own lived experience as a parent, accessibility has become a focal point of my work. I deepened my knowledge and embedded it into every project, eventually driving organisational change by sharing what I’d learned, delivering training, and leading initiatives to embed accessibility across teams and processes.

This site is a place for me to articulate what I’ve learned, share the work I care about, and connect with others who are interested in building a more inclusive web.
